With over 30 large-scale, site-specific art installations, Pittsburgh-based contemporary artist Freddie Bainbridge creates encaustic paintings, mixed-media installations, abstract works, and commissioned artwork that weave together memory, architecture, nature, beauty, and history—inviting curiosity, connection, and a sense of wonder.
His home and studio are located in Pittsburgh’s historic Mexican War Streets neighborhood, nestled between the Mattress Factory contemporary art museum and the vibrant Randyland outdoor art environment. Just a short walk away is the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, where several of his large-scale mixed-media installations are featured in the museum's permanent collection.
