Student Showcase: Wheeling and Neighbors. 2025
This collection features encaustic works created by students who participated in a series of workshops led by Freddie Bainbridge across the greater Wheeling region in 2025. These workshops were made possible thanks to the generous support of the Stifel Fine Arts Center, whose commitment to arts access and community programming opened the door for hands-on encaustic learning throughout the Ohio Valley.
Participants explored the ancient medium of wax for the first time—layering pigment, memory, and texture into deeply personal works of art. The National Museum of Encaustic Art extends its heartfelt thanks to the entire team at Stifel, especially [insert names here], for making this showcase—and the connections behind it—possible. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. We are honored to share these voices in wax.
Note: This exhibition is still in progress and under construction, with new student paintings being added regularly. Please return soon as the full collection unfolds.
